Course Objectives

To acquaint students with the procurement objectives and strategy as well as the associated risk and the available strategies to manage risk.

Course Description

Types/models of procurement, e-procurement, Collaborative practices (CPFR, VMI/CMI), Sourcing process, procurement cycle and process elements, Supplier selection and evaluation, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Contract negotiation, principles of negotiation, process and structure of negotiation, contract lifecycle, contract management, supply contracts and risk sharing.

The course also discusses Legal aspects of procurement, anti-corruption mechanisms, Global supply management, offshoring and outsourcing, Global supply chain risks, Risk assessment techniques and tools, Risk mitigation, proactive and reactive responses to risks, Supply chain resilience and business continuity
